Okay..seeing as I'm pretty lazy to update these days and the fact that my work load is getting heavier, I shall just go on a series of highlights from now on..!
TAIWAN (June 18 - 24)
Yes..the line above says it all..I was in Taiwan just 2 weeks ago for my uncle's wedding dinner over there and well to have fun of course!
Events :-
1. Supposedly all of us(my family) would be leaving KL>Taiwan on the 20th but instead my darling brother, Ed suggested that me and him leave earlier to go to Taipei to have some fun without our parents and therefore we left on the 18th with my Godma and my two god-brothers.
2. We spent 3 days in Taipei before leaving for Kaohsiung. We went to Shi Ling Night Market to shop which is very famous in Taiwan. We had fun shopping and I got 6 shirts on the first night itself! (ex rate NT 10 = RM 1)
3. Second day, Judy (local tour guide and friend) brought us to certain tourist points and we enjoyed ourselves very much! We went to Song Mei Ling's Mansion (very BIG!), Jiu Fen (a peak) and finally Taipei 101!
4. Jiu Fen was famous for it's local food and desserts, so we ate from the front of the street all the way to the last stall of the street. (pictures in facebook..links at the bottom!) Then we went made our way back to Taipei 101 to enjoy the spectacular night view.
5. Taipei 101 is currently the tallest tower in the world and it has the fastest elevator in the world! The elevator travels at 1010 m/per hr! the funny part is KLCC follows the shapes of a 'jagung' and the Taipei 101 follows the shape of a bamboo..so what shape will they follow next??hmm...pineapple?papaya?banana?? *sweat*
6. Some facts for you..when I first visited Taiwan when I was 12 i fell sick on the very first day cause I was very tired from the trip in USA and the fact that food inTaiwan seems to disagree with my stomach so I had loads of fun going to the toilet every possible chance I get. So I hated the place but then..I ended up coming back to this place without encountering this problem until the second night...When I was in the tower I felt my stomach going cold and next thing I know I was running for the toilet! Ed and my two god-brothers had loads of fun teasing me bout "choosing to s*** in the tallest building in the world!" I was in too much pain too argue back..sigh*
7. I retired early that night after having eaten 8 different pills. X_x
8. Third day, we left for Kaohsiung (one of the state in the south) via the High Speed Rail Link. It only took 1 hr and 30 min. The train was at 282 km/h so it was as fast as the bullet train in Japan! N yes...my stomach had failed me again and so I needed the toilet again. Thank God there's a few on board! yes..yes...the 3 guys made fun of me again.."wah..yesterday was the tallest tower today was the fastest train in world..you do choose extreme palces to do it eh..?"
9. Reached Kaohsiung by late by 4 and checked-in to the hotel.Kaohsiung is not a very big town so everything is within reach by car about 10 to 15 min away, and I mean everything! Uncle Edwin (the groom, my uncle) brought us around and went for an 8 course meal! It's cheap! very cheap! INSANELY CHEAP!!! NT 490 which amounts to only RM 49!!!! whoa...~!
10. Shopping again on the same night then I followed my uncle and my new aunt to the airport (20 min away..) to pick up the rest of my family members that arrived from KL.
11. My mom and aunt started teasing me again about my weak stomach again (not like I can do anything about it..) HAizz...
12. Today (21st) is very crucial for all of us as the dinner is tonight and we have to get alot of things done before it. We ladies went to the saloon in the morning and by 4 we were back in the hotel getting ready for the dnner.
13. Since I was the bride's maid, I have to wear a long white gown for the bridal march then change into a more casual gown later on..(so maa-fan) Again..my heels were killing me but I had no choice.
14. Ed was forced to sing again and he even got two encores!!He was accompanied by a violinist who reminded me of my best friend, jia rong and a pianist. Everyone thought he was some M'sian professional singer..ish..perasan la..
15. Phew glad that's over..so we had the next day free to ourselves and we shopped and ate the entire day.
16. 23rd, Uncle Edwin and his wife's family prepared a small trip up to Alisan for us that day. We left the hotel at 7:30 and started the journey. (gosh~) Alisan is really very beautiful. The view is absolutely magnificent!!! It's a big park where people come to enjoy mother nature's serene beauty. It was very cooling and comfortable there. As you walk you feel this cozy feeling embracing you and making you feel light every step of the way ~
17. Aunt Yin Peng kept telling me sarcastically through out the tour " Yeay!This is the place I've always wanted to come...(then she pulls me closer and whispers) DON'T EVER ASK ME TO COME UP HERE AGAIN!!! She was so "thrilled" when Uncle Edwin told her what Alisan has " Neh got Trees ar...Wood ar..Grass ar..Plants ar.." hahahaha...couldn't blame her cause she prefers to shop more than anything when she travels.
18. After that, we head back to town for dinner then we went to Shin Jue Jiang Night Market to shop agian. My mom got me 4 pairs of shoes!!! YEAY! Then we went to eat again! niu lao da! We were all on beef- mania the whole time in Taiwan cause their beef here is so juicy and fresh compared to the ones in KL. Yummy!!
19. We only finished packing our bags at 2 something in the morning and we have to leave the next day at 11 something. We came with 8 bags in total but went back with 17 bags or so..HAHAHAHA! Uncle Edwin sent us off at the airport and there was a very touching scene that happened. All of us were exchanging hugs with our new relatives and there were tears as it was unavoidable.
20. Uncle Edwin's Wife, Annie has a father who is currently in the hospital and diagnosed with cancer. During the wedding dinner he was only able to attend for an hour or so before he was sent back to the hospital. Annie's mother was shaking our hands and telling us one by one to help her to look out for her daughter in the future when she comes to stay in M'sia. It brought tears to our eyes because we see a woman before us who just married her only child away and is facing the possible coming of his beloved husband's death. All of a sudden, we only stood there hugging each other with tears flowing down our cheeks.
Dear God, please help this family to over come such hard times and give them strength to carry on till tomorrow. Bless and keep them Lord. Amen!
Well...as sad as things are, we can only hope. Hope is all we're able to do now..
Sigh....I miss my new Aunt in Taiwan! Well anyway, my family reurned to M'sia while me, Ed, my mom and my godma and her sons went to Hong Kong for a visit before we head back to KL. So I'll update bout that later tonight...ciao!
