Yasmin Ahmad

This is my favorite merdeka ad. Tan Hong Ming is cute! :)

This is a touching one. :)

Happy Merdeka~!

Today was probably the most interesting Merdeka I had. BRATs had an event today and guess what the activity was?? :) We had to...........

"Vandalize" the Monorail!

It was really fun. This event was part of the Random Alphabets movement. Basically, our job was to get on to one monorail per team and decorate the interior while the train operates as usual.

You can just imagine all those shocked and dumbfounded faces when we entered the train and started pulling stickers, flags, confetti and sprays out. The passengers were really amused when they saw us running from one end of the train to the other. It was like a live show of 'orang gila doing benda gila' as my friend put it.

We all had our own jobs and mine was to distribute mini flags and stickers. Some gave me weird stares but some gave me huge grins. It was especially sweet when the children waved the flag and said Merdeka like it meant more than just something we'd shout. "Hi! Have a flag! Happy Merdeka!" I must have sounded like a recording machine. lol!

Every time the door opens, we would be shouting Merdeka till the door closes. That even made some passengers contemplate if they should actually get on! ;p It was really a priceless experience we all had today! What a random way to spend my Merdeka. :)

Day 1

It's ok so far. Doesn't really feel too different from college other than the environment and the people. I miss MCKL only for the people. sigh..they made my 1.5 years really lovely. Ok. Fine.. not all but most of them. :) (you know who you are..)

Went for my first lecture on Social and Business Communication. it sounds hard but apparently it isn't. There's alot of group project involved and an individual orlal presentation before the finals. Well it's called communications after all. Sounds fun to me. :)

Food is definitely better here. There's so much variety! There's a lot of varierty in prices too! ;p But I spend a lot on transport everyday. 2.40 from p.jaya to jamek. Then 1.30 to central and finally 2 for the bus to damansara. That's just one way! Need to get those monthly passes and a touch n' go.

Okay..have to go for class again. :) Bye! Oh and.. I can finally call myself a uni student. Fu yoh!

Sigh... I want a picnic! :)

An end

Yeap.. saying goodbye is a good way to end things, leaving the place is another way to end things and getting my results yesterday is also an end to this chapter.

Did I do well you'll ask? Hmm..not really. I think I could have done better but oh wells..no point going on about the 'coulda', shoulda', 'woulda'. God is always humorous. Econs is normally my worse subject but I end up getting the best marks for it.. AGAIN.

Econs is a 'B'. Law and Lit is a 'C'. Apparently law and lit subjects has the lowest grades. Just lovely.. and I had to take both the subjects. Sigh... but these two were the best subjects I've taken since spm. I enjoy Lit and Law so much! Challenging, thought provoking and life changing. :)

Results..it made me feel like the chapter has really closed. Yeap. It's like I see a "That's all there is, there isn't anymore." line appearing on the screen right before the "The End" line pops up.

Ms Betsy is so happy with my results. Now that's a first. lol! Mrs Dharma was very supportive while (Ms) Mel cheered me up with her company for the rest of the day! :)

We went to bolder at Camp 5. Then we caught Up! It's so sweet and meaningful. The music fits perfectly! A really hopeful piece. That movie really made my downs up. Nothing like climbing and a good movie to make my miserable day memorable. I'll watch again with my lil' bro and cousins. :)

P/S :
Thanks Jen for all the encouragement. :) Haha..I'll be disturbing you again at HELP.

Thanks Regina, Ms Angeline, Ms Grace and Mrs Dharma for the encouragement as well. :) Good to see all of you again. :)

Thanks Rach, Kai Li and Li-Sha for checking up on me and for making me laugh though I really wanted to cry. Oh and JLing for trying to convince me that he's Shonna. :)

Thanks Mel for cheering me up and making my miserable day memorable and fun. Thanks for the movie too! :) I had fun. :)

Above all.. Thank you Lord for good and bad results and for all these wonderful people you had brought into my life. They are lovely and a real GEM! Bless them and keep them safe. AMEN! :)

Get going..

The night before Orientation Day, scared or excited I was pretty prepared to start another chapter of my life. Then God sent me message while I did my devotion. Get going.. aim higher.. push the boundaries further out.. pursue for more.. pursue a better relationship with God.. and live to glorify His name.

I don't know why, but I feel like I'll be fine. :) I know that I'm not walking ahead without Him and that is so comforting. When I closed in prayer, I don't know why something made me say, "Lord, teach me and open up my heart to embrace the new and all that's out there for me and at the same time cherish the old."

It kinda made me realize that I was still a little reluctant to move on. How I'll miss the people and the memories we made. I always feel sentimental when I have to move on. Feels a little heavy hearted.

Orientation was okay. HELP is really something different. Too many procedures to go through as well. But what really made my day yesterday was an sms from a special friend. "Gd morning. 2day is ur orientation rite? All the best. I'm willing to become ur audience when u r sad..good luck.take care. :) " Not forgetting others who also messaged. :)

Managed to go through the entire day without much problem. Made a lot of new friends and met up with the old ones too. :)

sigh... now my biggest worry is the results.sigh!

I think this one of those days that I thank God so much for calling me His daughter. :) How he watches over every detail and how he cares for me. :)

Thank you Lord for everything! :) More importantly..
Thank you for picking me up on my feet again. :)

Runaway Mom!

Real life story. Trust me...it's super interesting and the full meaning comes out AT THE END! ;)

She got up the car and drove forward so that her daughter could put the groceries in the trunk. While her daughter placed the bags of shopping in, she remembered that they had bought ice cream, milk, sausages and margarine so she decided that it's best that these items be placed in the back seat rather than the trunk. Just incase they melt and go bad.

Her daughter swiftly closes the door and heads for the lift area to return the shopping cart and to her surprise when she walks back to the direction of the car; it was GONE. She thought her mother was making a turn back to where she stood but after a while she saw no sign of the silver nissan sentra.

She immediately called her mother. After 2 attempts, there still was no answer. So she waited... yes.. waited for 'someone' to realize that their missing a passenger. sigh..

*in the car*

Mom : Hey so today who ate the noddles? You or Ivan?

-No answer-

Mom : (monologue) Sleeping already??? Why isn't she handing me my kaya puff? I'm hungry..

Mom : Carmen..Carmen.. ??

-no answer-

Mom : CARMEN!

-still no answer-

Mom : (monologue) Listening to the ipod again! *finally turns around* EH!? Where is SHE!!!??

Well yes.. this is the real and true story of what happened today at Jusco. Yeap. That was my mom (the runaway mom) and me (the abandoned child) just incase your still lost. I know, I know. MY MOM IS IMPPOSIBLE! She laughed all the way back home. Haiyooooo!!!! Thank God I'm 19 not 9! Tsk tsk.... I know their getting old and it's okay to forget about stuff but forgetting bout your daughter!?!?!? Seriously whey... O.o

People this is a severe warning!!!!
GET UP THE CAR BEFORE OUR MOMS ZOOM OFF!!!! XP

Ugly Truths or Sweet Little Lies?

Do you know an average person makes the above choice at least10 to 15 times a day?

How easy and how hard can delivering the truth and the lie be?

Was watching Sex and The City again and there was one episode about Carrie modelling for a charity fashion show. She couldn't believe that she looked good though everyone said she looks "Fabulous!" She was so restless and nervous at the fact that she knew no one in that room would really ever tell her truthfully how ugly or beautiful she is. In the end, one of her best friends reassured her that she did look good, and only then did she feel the confidence and relief building up in her.

Then it got me thinking.. The world can really be cruel and sometimes, it gets even colder when no one bothers to tell you the truth that you either longed or loathed to hear. We like to hear things that pleases us, but sometimes, we just want to hear a realistic answer or at least an honest answer. Though anyone can deliver that truth, yet we decide to be skeptical. We just wouldn't believe it unless "our person" delivers it.

Noticed how sometimes our minds can classify statements? I do. If I hear it from my family and my best friends, I'd know it's the truth and it can be ugly at times. But if just any friend or even stranger delivers it, I'll somehow feel it's a sweet little lie to make me feel better. It's like selective hearing.

There's a saying that goes, "It's better to live with one closed eye, rather than two wide opened eys." It's not a hard task listening or even saying little lies, but how much more pretentious do we really want to make ourselves? Maybe we'd feel better living without knowing everything but a collected amount of lies will just amount to a burst of painful honesty.

Like Carrie, I know I wouldn't be able to walk down that runway without knowing an honest and true opinion of how I looked. It's not so much of the truth anymore. It's about who we eventually hear it from. Because we know, at the end of the day, the ones who will really give us that piece of realistic opnion and that piece of ugly truth, is none other than those who truly loves and cares for us. :)

Knowing where and who the truth comes from, helps us to single out the ones that truly loves and means us well and the ones that couldn't be bothered about how we'll make it through our every obstacle in life.

Ironic isn't it?

What a day...

Yeap went on another rock climbing session with Rachel. It was just the two of us. Well, Mel is sick and Kevin is busy.. didn't even see shawn! Sigh... oh well. :) I still had fun though!

Reached Tun Sambanthan round 10-ish and we headed for 1U. Walked about hunting for someone's much desired sponge bob t-shirt but in the end Rach bought some other shirt instead. You can ask her to show it you. It's pretty cool. :)

Time was slowly slipping through so we quickly hopped into Burger King and went bolt straight for our movie. We watched The Proposal and it was good! =D Ryan Reynolds is cute and I catch nearly every movie he does! Sandra Bullock was good too! We laughed so much and Rach kept saying.. "gosh...he's so cute!" The scenery was breath taking as well. Alaska reminds me of Canada. Another need to go place before I die. All in all, there was just too much laughing and OMG-ing.

Finally we headed to Camp 5 for climbing. Sigh.. the only complaint I have of this place is the registration. It really takes a while.... :( Note to self : go there 15 min early to settle registration!
Since Rach couldn't belay (not complaining :P), we started off with boldering. No one was there since it's still early, so we could try the really hard ones and fall without utter humiliation. ;p

I'm proud of you RACH! You climbed the 12m wall!! And yes Mel, suddenly it feels so much harder to climb the auto-belay wall...... X_X i fell off so many times while attempting the 3rd wall. Sigh.. my new challenge~!

Hee....my day ended with waffles at waffle world! Oh hang on..sorry the grand finale was a BANG as Rach calls it. It was a really loud and scary bang too. Traumatized? Yea..kinda. I'll stick to walking for a while. But, I was glad I didn't go through it alone. :) Thank you Lord for Rachel. :)
