Wedding~
Saturday,
Woke up at 8 and got out of the house at 10 something. My mom brought me and Ed to get our hair done. My mom did the usual style only more extreme this time...Ed just straighten his hair again and got a nice hair cut. Hate to admit it but he actually looks good. Me??? HAHAHA....guess what they did to my hair?
The lady that did my facial the other day suggested that I curl my hair so that the make up artist can style my hair easily rather than just straight hair, so my mom took her advise and well they gave me CURLS!!!!!I looked like goldilocks with black hair! Sigh, I couldn't argue. Then Ed insisted that I get my nails done as well. great...just marvelous. I've never had a manicure in my entire existance, seriously! Ed chose light pink and I think it was ten times better than my curls..
After we got our hair done, we rushed to the restaurant for rehearsals. The restaurant staff was very very stressed cause they aren't preparing for just any normal customer; my family has been eating there like every weekend every since I was born so let's just say this relation is chocking them under stress..if anything goes wrong Aunt Yin Peng, Uncle Alex and my mom will murder them..but my family has been good friends with the boss, and we aren't unreasonable people la.. *winks*
Me and ed spent about 2 hrs or maybe less rehearsing with Ivan and my 3 cousins. Well, I can say we seem to be doing great! (though my heels were killing me..X_X)
It was 5 already, mom and everyone else went off like an hour ago to get things done and to get ready for the event leaving the 6 of us,Uncle Danny,Felicity and Newice. The worst part is none of us have a CAR! We were getting tensed when the clocked strike 5:15..we couldn't afford to wait anymore so we just packed our stuff and started walking to Prince hotel about 15 minutes away.
Annie and her family was staying at the hotel and my aunt got us a room there for us to bathe and to get ready. Fine, we got there by ourselves but our room only had one bath room so I brought the girls to the aparment suite Annie's staying and bathed. We were all very stressed and tensed cause time is going by qucikly (too quickly~!) and we seem to freaking clumsy, leaving things here and there and all of a sudden things are all going hay wire!
7:30...this was suppose to be the time the dinner starts but the bride and some of us were still in the hotel. Crap! We only got out of the hotel at 8 something but thank God the restaurant was just down the road. We reached by about 8:30 and still we couldn't start. The food wasn't ready and 30 % of the guest still hasn't arrived.
It was nearly 9 when we started but everyone was cool and when the bridal march started, all eyes were on us. The lights were off and a huge spotlight was pointing at us. Scary....but I had fun!
No one could recognize me cause of my curls and the fact that I was in a white gown. I never wear dresses...not in a million years but since it's my uncle's wedding and since I'm the bride's maid..I don't have a choice right?Besides it'd be weird if the bride's maid marched down in pants! The food was great! I didn't have much chances to eat but it was good anyway. I think the crowd was amazed when Ed sang, he even got an encore!
By the time we got back to the hotel it was already 12 something near 1. Since my feet ached, I went to soak my feet and that took me all the way to 2:30!Tired..very tired..that was all that was going thru my mind. Well..still have tomorrow to worry about..

Wedding~ 2
Sunday,
6:00..alarm went off. Didn't bother..then 6:27, Felicity's went off...looked at the time on my watch and I jumped off the bed in full panic! Crap! The three of us gals got ready as fast as we could with the only one toilet we have and well...they seemed calmed not me.
Angel (my bro's best fren) came bout 7:15 or so and helped make up seeing as I can't myself cause I'm really dumb when it comes to all these. By 7:45 all of us rushed over to the bride's (Annie) apartment suite and waited for the guys to arrive.
OKAY>>> For those who don't really know the tradition of a chinese wedding this is what happens....
The groom and his guys will come to the bride's house to marry her. This happens early in the morning bout 8 something. There a lot customs involved here but we only followed 60 %. The best part bout this is, when the groom reaches the door step of the Bride's place, the Bride's girl friends or whatever you call it will answer the door. The girls will demand ang pow aka money from the groom. Normally an amount of 9999.99 (good number) will be demanded.
The groom will give the amount but mostly they give less, so since it's less than expected, the girls will then make the groom go thru 'obstacles'. the obstacles involve things like singing, dancing, pumping, sit-ups, exclaiming 'i love you' over and over in just about every language he knows and anything the girls can think off, they make him do it. Ouch ain't it??? Hahahaha..that's the fun of it ma!
We didn't expect nor prepare to make my uncle go thru the 'obstacles' but Annie gave us the green light so what the heck...LET'S HAVE SOME FUN THEN!! it was really funny! Even the Annie's mother and aunty joined in! We made my uncle give us like 6 ang pows, then we made him sing, exclaim 'i love you' to Annie over and over again, made him do pumping, he even danced abit on his own.. (i'll try to upload the video if possible).
I think we had fun playing with him, even the bride kept requesting for him to do things! It was very sweet when he finally got in to the room. He knelt down and the bride made him sing again. My uncle never sings in public and we never heard him sing ourselves. he was sooooo lost, so Uncle Jack (Annie's uncle) started to sing the song "love you more than I can say" to help him start off.
Uncle Jack : Woo Ooo Ooh... yeayy..yeay I love you more than I can say
Edwin (my uncle) :What's the next line???
so I sang the next line for him...
Carmen : I'll love you twice as much tomorrow..
Edwin : Woo Ooh.. (that's the only line he knows..)
Wkakaka...we were roaring with laughter by the time he managed the Woo Ooo part. Haiz... Then all of us except Annie's mom went to their new house to pay respect to my grandparents. When we reached the entrance of the condo, all the cars started to horn (modern way instead of having the chinese band making the loud noises)...Bla bla...then we went back to the hotel for the tea ceremony. That took like nearly 2 hours then the final bit.. LUNCH!!
Around 3 or 4, everything finished...all of us packed up everything (deco, cakes,gowns..etc) and headed for home. I had a hard time taking out the pins from my bushy curls! I didn't care bout the rest but I fell dead on my bed and slept till 8:30...then only all the muscle aches and head aches flooded over me. Anyway...the wedding went alright and it was a success!
Congrats Uncle Edwin & Annie (my new 'Jiu Ma')!!!!!!!
Welcome to the family Annie Jiu Ma!!!!!!

The Wedding (pt 4)
Friday...phew..closer and closer. Some part of me wished the wedding was in July, it seems to be happening too fast. I'm speaking like as if it's my wedding rite?? Hahaha..actually the wedding is pratically planned by all of us, so shall I say we're naturally freaked out as well?? I saw Annie's gowns and they looked so beautiful..can't believe I'm saying this but those dresses are really very beautiful and it's an awesome design too!
My uncle made me bring Foong mama, Aunty Joy and Uncle Jack to central market...well at least they bought dome stuff and were really nice. Then all of us returned to the hotel to pack up and get ready for the big day tomorrow. The three insisted that they will not take dinner with our family tonight cause they want to get ready for tomorrow but in the end..we 'accidentally' dragged them along for naan in Ampang. (notice the word accidentally)
I think Foong mama was angry with me cause she had a really black face. *Sweat* I was kinda stressed when there was no table available yet, then when we finally got a table, the food took ages to arrive! All eyes were on me cause I had to handle everything since my mom, aunt and practically all the other adults who were suppose to be here weren't here!!!!! My uncle?? sigh...he's hopeless when it comes to all this stuff..so I'd die a harder death if I had depended on him!
But in the end Uncle Alex came to my rescue then my mom and aunt...well, they could have come sooner so that I can breathe again under all these glares and stares!!!Aunty Joy and Uncle Jack really enjoyed the food cause they ate alot and I remember Foong mama told me that Aunty Joy's fav is drinking, eating n talking..seems easy enough to satisfy, don't you think?
We are pretty tired and we still have so many things to pack for tomorrow. Well...haizz...gambatte!we can make it!!

The Wedding (pt 3)
I sleep at 2 or 3 something everynight...nah, not because of the wedding. Cause I was catching up on all the ANIME I bought that day which explains the wonderful tiny panda eyes I'm having now.
Okay..the wedding..hmm..the wedding..WAH!!! It's this weekend! Gosh..some part of me knows there's things we left out and things not done yet but most probably we won't notice it until saturday. DIE LA! My uncle, his fiance and her family arrived in KL yesterday. One funny bunch they are..very cute too!
Aside from my uncle and Annie (his fiance, my 'jiu ma') the others that came were Annie's mom (we call her foong mama), Aunty Joy (Annie's aunt) and Uncle Jack (Annie's uncle). On the way back, I was suppose to direct the way but hahaha =p...we ended up in LDP (puchong).
p/s : my sense of direction is good k..just that I don't know the airport area well. =p
We brought them for dinner at Mdm Kwan's and chuck them at Prince hotel. It was fun meeting Aunty joy and Uncle Jack cause the two are so totally cute when they speak and plus Foong mama...hahaha...absolutely hilarious!
Thursday, we went over to the house in Miharja with them. They were all very pleased with all the decorations we have done and also the stuff in the new house. It was sublime to feel that we had done things suitable for them and to be praised by them la..(DUH!) We were afraid that we hadn't done enough but seems that it was ok. :)

The Wedding (pt 2)
Okay..ta da!second episode?? Erm..oh well, whatever la.
It's now June 8th...gosh were only 6 days away from the wedding! ALERT! ALERT!!! PANIC ATTACK! PANIC ATTACK!!! *Sigh* Inhale..exhale..inhale..exhale.. We can make it, we can do it. Well most of the prep is done but we still have things to do. So far the things that we managed to finish from Friday till today is..
1) Clean and start decorating the new house. (half done..=p too bad la, no matter how much stuff we get from Lovely Lace, it's still not enought to fill the house.)
2) Facial (my mom dragged me from bed on saturday at 7 just to bring me all the way to PJ to do facial!!Plus..she asked the lady to do waxing as well...btw..it was my first time doing facial n WAXING!the pain!!!the horror!!!)
3) Shopping :-
a) Decorative items (done a lot of that..!the entire house only consist of decorative
items from Lovely Lace. I think it's begining to smell like the shop too!)
b) Fridge (finally got one today from Seng Heng..dunno the price though..think it was bout
2300 something..)
c) Bed sheets (ausino ^.^)
d) Clock (the simplest thing on our list yet we took so long to get it..)
e) Pillows (er..haven't bought enough yet..we forgot bout the living room so gotta buy
again.. =p)
f) I know I'm forgetting something....er..never mind..XD
4) The Party Favors!!! (we all stayed up till like 12 something just packing in chocolate into the organsa bags..my aunt is a perfectionist so it was sorta hard and annoying to make sure all the chocolates form a nice circle n stuff..!!*****!!*!*!*!*!*! But it does look good la)
5) Contact Lens (I had no time to pick my contacts, so my mom's gonna send the office boy to do it..since I was so 'careful' with it the last time, I had to order an extra pair just incase one side decides to slip off and go 'hang kai' itself~!)
6) Check My Dresses (well, their in one piece..good to know then!)
7) Tell Uncle Alex to get Ocean Park and Disneyland tickets for me and Ed. (OPPS...sorry not part of the wedding but it's on my to do list la..hahaha =p!)
8) VERY IMPORTANT ONE...finalize the seatings in the restaurant! The deco, the sound systems (ed is singing plus one relative who is a pro mandarine singer in m'sia, though I never heard of her till today :p) , the dishes and the partitions in the restaurant.
9) Oh n..not starving ourselves too much along the way~!
Well that's so far what we all managed to do within these few days. It's been very tiring and since Ed is still having exams and Ivan is preparing to go back to school tommorow, I'm the one doing their share as well. Haizz..the more tiring part is yet to come..GAMBATTE!!!Well tata..more updates later! zzz...need to sleep!

The Wedding (pt 1)
Hmm...looks like this post and possibly the future posts within this month shall be about my uncle's wedding. Actually it sorta sounds like a series or something, don't you think? Since it sounds like some series..I might as well narrate it from the begining~!
Flash back to CNY~ I think it was on the first day of CNY that my youngest uncle,Edwin proposed to us his plans of getting married. We were all extremely pleased and very surprised. He is already 37 this year and we've been rather worried cause his love life is rather slow-moving but thank God (krystal's Great Above) that he decides to tie the knot!
His fiance, Annie is a Taiwanese and she's only 27 this year..yes yes big gap, but they love each other and they both look so cute together so why not rite? Love has no boundaries wad! Since the wedding is the last for my mom's generation, we're gonna make it as proper and as 'grand' as possible.
My uncle works for Gamuda, some construction company which has projects around the globe,so he was transfered to Taiwan 4 ago. Long story short, he met Annie and they fell in love. He never had a girl friend at all, so it was really happy for us to see him finally attached and well happy..
According to Annie, my uncle didn't really propose to her in a romantic atmosphere of any sort, no flowers too! tsk tsk...he's sorta hopeless in this area I guess but she said yes, so who cares! Due to my uncle's job in Taiwan completing in August or so, the company will transfer him to other countries so he needs to get married within this period.
My mom, Aunt Yin Peng(1st aunty) and my grandma went over to Taiwan in March to sorta formally speak in detail about the wedding to Annie's parents. It's all the Chinese mambo jambo thing..So it was decided that the wedding will be held in KL first then in Taiwan. Btw, I now grandly announce the date >>> JUNE 14 for the wedding dinner and JUNE 15 for the tea ceremony! Cause my uncle is in Taiwan all this time, all the preperations have been done by us. Not that we mind, we're actually more excited than he is! Okay, maybe not more excited..but we definitely estatic!
All of us like to plan for the wedding though it's real hectic..Especially my mom and my aunt. Seems that they're the ones calling the shots. My uncle has left it in their capable hands and all he needs to do is just pay for everything! My mom and aunt dragged me all over KL shopping for my dresses cause I'm the brides maid. Well, those insane people are making me wear 4 dresses! Hmm..those who knows me should know that I don't fancy wearing dresses but oh well since it's for my dear uncle..just this once!
Most of the prep is done but we still need to finalize a lot of stuff. Haizz..this is gonna be a real hectic holiday! More updates later..tata!

Unforgivenss
Fimiliar word rite? Unforgiveness. It sounds so dark, so hissy, so painful. I'm no saint and I do struggle with this. It takes me some time to be able to forgive someone and I'll admit it is never easy, not easy at all. Maybe if the problem was smaller, then we might forgive faster but if it's bigger then maybe we'll take some time. Time..it goes by quickly enough to soothe our aching hearts and hopefully mend things in the process.
Unforgiveness, it's no stranger to us, definitely not to me. We don't want to forgive but we want to be forgiven. Greedy people, aren't we? And sometimes, most of the time..we do forgive but do we forget so easily? These are the constant questions that would ring in our heads when we come across this intersection so very often. It's a hard struggle to forgive and to obtain forgiveness, so much so that either way it bruises us.
During the sermon yesterday, my church elder spoke about unforgiveness and I think God wanted me to hear that. Unforgiveness is like a black hole, it will continue to grow and destroy in us. Of course not forgiving others is one thing that is hard to get rid of but not forgiving ourselves is an even harder task to be rid of. There are so many aspects of this and one of the psychological aspect is that those who don't forgive themselves are obviously so guilty that they can't let themselves be free of that bondage.
Most of us would think that not forgiving ourselves would merely effect us only and it would only damage ourselves but actually that balck hole is not only eating us away, it's destroying the people around us as well. We think that not forgiving ourselves is also a form of punishment we tie ourselves to but that is what we tie to those around us as well. Not that we ask them to share it with us but being human..they'll come to us to aid us and willing suffer with us.
I've been doing really really stupid things for a long time now and I think I didn't bother noticing it till yesterday. When we corner ourselves to a death sentence, we're bringing those around us with us. It's a black hole that knows not control of who it damages..When all along I thought I was hurting myself only, I was actually hurting others..the ones I held dear. Unforgiveness results when we fail to convince ourselves to let go and to start over.
Letting go is very hard and I agree it's not something easy. And it can be anything we refuse to let go..someone, an incident, a thing, a word..anything at all. Unforgiveness is actually cornering ourselves and setting ourselves without options. Truth is...we're the ones digging n growing that black hole. It's us..we're the ones who have blinded all our senses to be unforgiving for the sake of not letting go. In lay terms..that's being really stubborn! And, I'm really stubborn..so it's definitely not easy for me.
It's a grudge also..it's like we're holding a fist so tight and refusing to relax and to open it. So untill when are we holding that fist? Are we so hardened not to try to let go? Is this really final? As hard as it seems..as painful as it really is..did God create us not to try at all? These are the questions that rings in my head, what are yours?

Joyous weekend..
Saturday,
Whee!!!Weekends!!! Like any other weekend, my family eats breakfast together in the morning and we go about our own busy schedules of the day. Except nowadays the only topic or thing we'll do or think about is my uncle's wedding so more errands to run again for today. My mom had an appointment with the photographer to discuss bout the wedding plans and since it's getting bored, me,Ivan n dad ditched them at Prince Hotel and went to Pavillion. We went to get movie tickets for a show we're watching tmrw(free movie tkts!) and decided to eat there on our own. Opps..it's near 4 di..
My dad dropped me at Leisure Mall to meet up with my pastor. I was asked by ps vic to help out with some of their church members'practical (they went to share the gospel in public),so he planted me in McD's and purposely lead one of them to preach the gospel to me. (they don't know who I am cause we're from diff church and they had no idea I was planted there!!)
Hahaha...I couldn't resist playing with them so I came up with I don't know the gospel,I'm a free thinker and my parents are Buddist to keep them talking. The poor girl was wrecking nervous while sharing the gospel and I couldn't be bothered to go easy on her..=p But well in reality it's not easy to just talk to a stranger and convince them to believe in the gospel,so I just kept on toying with her. In the end, when she asked if I would believe in Jesus..I just smiled and said I'll thnik about it, the poor girl was disappointed but I was having too much fun,so sorry ya!!! =p Then we parted and I didn't feel like disclosing who I really was yet cause the really fun part was yet to come...
After an hour, all the trainees went back to church for the next session. I followed in my pastor's car so none of them saw me. When were in the sanctuary(church) all of them were sharing their experience and pastor purposely asked Amy to share and she said she didn't do very well and she couldn't convince me to believe. Pastor asked her,"If I were to give you one chance to re-do it..How would you have done it differently?" She gave her answer still not noticing me sitting at the back...(HAHAHAHAHAHA)
Then pastor said,"Okay..then let's ask Carmen for some feedback.." The girl was shocked that I was there and she muttered aloud on the mic, " You mean she's HERE!?" She was seriously blur case! She was shy and all..so she was sticking to the pillar trying to hide. I think she least expected to see me again let alone to find out that I was a Christian and PLANTED there to test her. HAhaha...well it was for a good cause that I came and hehehe...FUN too!!!
Don't get me wrong, we don't get exams for learning how to preach the gospel it's just an exposure to us to allow us to be bold to go out to the world to tell the people bout God. Every church does things differently but such exposures are very common and please don't misinterprate us for cults!
Sunday,
WHEE!!MOVIE!!!!!Me and Ivan went to watch Indiana Jones!Quite good and most of it is very funny. The story line ain't bad too but I love the choreograph a lot!! Pavillion cinemas have very comfortable chairs! So go watch the movie ppl!!!
To conclude the joyous day...My mom's younger brother aka my uncle la..wanted to eat dinner at this place called Zun's Kitchen. Don't ask me what the heck it means...I don't think Zun's a valid world. Everytime we eat with them, that's where we'll end up eating! Oh the food is good but come on..we're always eating in the same restaurant! It's like as if all the reataurants in the world have extincted but that one!
The entire time I was messaging Krystal who on the other end was also having a sucky evening! She was staying over at Janda Baik (near Genting) and some of her 'lovely' relatives decided to come over and even sleep over! So the both of us were plauged yesterday. She said it was the work of the Great Above so as to give us something to blog about. WEll..here I am blogging then! Thank God my torture was only for a few hours but Krystal..well I'll leave her to rant for herself..
Btw,incase you haven't caught on it was "TORTURE CARMEN & KRYSTAL DAY!" yesterday!!!! I said yesterday..so if you haven't got to torture either one of us,please take a number and we'll get back to you..same time NEXT YEAR!
